Our Head Baseball Coach

Randy Griggs is President of Youth Baseball Insider, LLC and the Youth Baseball Insider Academy, LLC which provides private and group fundamental baseball lessons and camps to youth of all ages. He has authored or co-authored four best-selling baseball training books and numerous training articles published nationally. Since 2005, he has been the Publisher and Editor for a highly rated and successful online youth baseball blog which can be read at www.youthbaseballinsider.com.

Mr. Griggs originally attended college on a basketball scholarship but his love for playing the game of baseball pushed him to make the transition during his freshman year. Upon completing college he continued playing baseball at the semi-pro level for several teams in the San Antonio Men’s Baseball League, a member of the National MSBL/MABL Association with 325 affiliates sponsoring some 300 teams throughout the US.

After a couple of years away from the game he returned to play and coach a sponsored “B” level softball team that traveled an ASA tournament trail throughout Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona finally retiring from playing after an injury.

Coach Griggs has over 20 years of baseball and softball coaching experience under his belt. He holds several youth baseball coaching certifications and is a certified speed and agility instructor as well as a youth fitness coach. He provides every player, parent and coach with high quality fundamental baseball techniques that will help them prepare for success. His primary goal is to create healthy young people and develop their athletic ability to the highest level possible.

Over the years Coach Griggs have coached several select level baseball teams from the 6U through 16U level and is an active member of the American Baseball Coaches Association. Through this association he has been able to partner with several former Major League level coaches to hone his coaching skills and understanding of the game of baseball. He has also been an active member in several youth sports organizations and is currently a baseball coach for the highly competitive M.A.D. Baseball Academy in Franklin, Tennessee.

He has a passion for Youth Sports and the development of young people. Coach Griggs is tirelessly committed to providing his players and their parents with an experience that will last a lifetime.

Outside of baseball Mr. Griggs is an executive with a Fortune 500 company and live in Franklin, Tennessee with his lovely wife Elizabeth and their two children. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, hiking, boating, photography and martial arts.
