Baseball Conditioning Tricep Stretch

Baseball Conditioning Exercise – Triceps Stretch:

  1. Stand tall.
  2. Lift your right arm straight up over your right shoulder.
  3. Reach over your head with your left hand and grab the right elbow.  Pull it back.
  4. Pull it back as much as possible without excess pain. 
  5. Hold for 10 seconds and then switch arms.
  6. Repeat with left arm.
  7. Complete 3 sets with both arms.

Baseball Conditioning – Forearm Stretch:

 

  1. Stand tall.
  2. Extend your right arm out in front of you so the palm faces the sky.
  3. Grab the right fingers with your left hand and pull down while keeping the right arm extended.
  4. Hold for 10 seconds then switch arms.
  5. Now extend the right arm with the palm facing down.  This time pull up on the fingers.
  6. Hold for 10 seconds and then switch arms. 
  7. Complete 3 sets of both exercises per arm.

Baseball Conditioning – Hamstring Stretch:

 

  1. Spread your legs just over shoulder width apart.  As you get better and more flexible increase the distance of the spread.
  2. Reach with both hands down to the right ankle/foot.
  3. Keep the legs straight to feel the stretch of the hamstring.
  4. Hold for 10 seconds, repeat 10 times
  5. Switch legs and repeat.

Baseball Conditioning Exercise – Quad Stretch:

  1. Stand tall.
  2. Bend your right leg backward so the foot rises up behind you.
  3. Grab the instep of the foot with your right hand while balancing on the left leg.
  4. Pull your foot up to your buttocks
  5. Pull up until you feel a good stretch in the quad area.  Hold for 10 seconds and switch legs.
  6. Complete 3 sets on both legs and make sure you go slowly and feel the stretch

Baseball Conditioning Exercise – Lower Hamstring Stretch:

 

  1. Stand tall with your feet close together.
  2. Optional – Cross your right foot over the left foot while bending at the waist.
  3. Reach down and touch your toes, keeping your legs straight.
  4. Hold the stretch for 10 seconds and switch legs if you do the crossover.
  5. You can also grab your toes if you have the flexibility.
  6. Try to increase the stretch each set.  Complete 3 sets on both legs.

Baseball Conditioning Exercise 3 – Reach Through Stretch:

  1. Take the position as shown in the picture below.
  2. Spread your legs as far apart as possible while keeping your balance.
  3. Bend at the waist and place your palms flat on the ground.  Hold for 10 seconds, repeat 10 times.  Raise your body back up before repeating.
  4. Keep your knees from bending if possible.
  5. After touching the ground you can add a reach through to the stretch by reaching back between your legs.  Complete 10 reps and repeat for 2 sets.
